SickKids Scrubs in the City – Mexico City
Scrubs in the City, hosted annually at Evergreen Brick Works, adopts the theme of one of the most exciting cities in the world. A Taste of Mexico City
The 2024 menu featured a modern take on many of Mexico City’s most popular dishes. The Hors D’oeuvres included Sope Oaxaca, Tequila Lime Grilled Chicken Quesadilla, Shrimp “Aguachile,” and other fresh and flavourful bites. As the night progressed, the custom TOBEN Food Stations opened: the Birria Taco Cart, Juarez Alley Fish Stand, Carne Asada Station, and a fun and interactive build-your-own Churro Sundae Bar.

An Immersive Event Design
Through the collaborative efforts of a stellar vendor team, the event theme was brought to life in every aspect of the evening. A Mexican artist created an incredibly vibrant ceiling installation, which served as the centrepiece of the dance floor, while extravagant stilt walkers, Mariachi dancers, and a live band entertained guests throughout the night.

Creating a Brighter Future
The Mexican fiesta raised funds to support essential equipment upgrades at SickKids, helping the neurophysiology and neurodiagnostic labs keep pace with technological innovation in their treatment of conditions like tumours, epilepsy, and stroke. This means faster diagnoses, newer treatments, more precise surgeries, and ultimately, brighter futures for children. To be a part of next Scrubs in the City, you can purchase tickets here.
