Luxury Tailgate Surprise Birthday
George’s 60th surprise birthday, held at The Symes in Toronto, was truly a party to remember. The guest of honour’s passion for sports was perfectly reflected in the theme with an upscale twist on a tailgate party.

Elevated Tailgate Fare
TOBEN was the perfect Toronto caterer to take classic tailgate comfort food and put a luxurious twist on it. Guests indulged in savoury Hors D’oeuvres like the Lobster Grilled Cheese, Spicy Southern Fried Chicken Sliders, and Lamb ‘Gyro’ Steam Buns before diving into the four food stations: Chicken Souvlaki, The Burger Bar, Handmade Pasta, and the Street Taco Station.
Attention to Detail
No sporting event is complete without games, decor, and of course, bleachers. Guests mingled on the vinyl court floor, and in the “stands” with custom seating and enjoyed activations like the basketball arcade game, a memorabilia wall, and a mailbox guest book. The ambiance buzzed with excitement and nostalgia, adding to the fun sporty atmosphere.
The Touchdown
A highlight of the evening was the fan-favourite TOBEN dessert station, offering “to-go” treats such as Dark Caramel Crème Brûlée, Tiramisu, Passion Fruit Panna Cotta, and Key Lime Pie. On top of this, servers passed custom Warm Mini Loukoumades, a Greek specialty, created by the TOBEN chefs as an homage to the guest of honour.
